Call us old-fashioned, but we thought the whole point of S Club 7 was that there were, well, seven of them. However, former members Jo O’Meara, Bradley McIntosh and Paul Cattermole are obviously so desperate for cash enthusiastic about their art, that they’ve decided to reform as S Club 3. Sadly, the rest of the group, namely Rachel Stevens, Tina Barrett, Hannah Spearritt and Jon Lee, could not be persuaded to rejoin, what with them still having careers and all. The trio are looking to get £3,000 for 20-minute sets at universities and nightclubs, but apparently bookings are thin on the ground so far. “It’s early days,” says promoter Terry Mills. “They’ve got some good songs so I’m sure they’ll get bookings. Everyone deserves to make some cash in the credit crunch.” The threesome will perform medleys of their hits including Reach and Don’t Stop Movin’, which actually sounds like it might be fairly fun in a cheesy way, as long as Jo doesn’t say anything offensive and get booed off stage. So, do you wanna see Bradley swing, watch Paul gettin’ down on the floor and check if Jo’s still got the flow (she should really see a doctor about that) or are you rapidly tiring of all these half-arsed pop comebacks?
