Britney's mum Lynne has talked a lot about her daughter Britney. Hell, she even wrote a book about her. But, up until now, Lynne has never openly admitted that she was in any way to blame for Britney's breakdown, instead focusing on how she helped her daughter recover. However, Lynne has now confessed that at one point she even considered changing the title of her book to It's All My Fault (It's actually entitled, Through The Storm), because she felt she was to blame for what happened. In a new interview, Lynne admits, "Did I feel that way at the time? Yes, I did and, if I'm being totally honest, I still do. When things took a turn for the worse, I was out, because other people – dancers, managers – were closer to her. Being a mother, you can't help but have regrets about what you did and didn't do for your kids, and I'm no different." Lynne then goes on to talk honestly about how she may have made mistakes during Britney's upbringing. "I would over-compensate and I tried to make things seem happier when my kids were growing up," she explains. "Maybe I didn't give her the skills to handle the hard times. Maybe I sheltered her too much from the realities, and sometimes that's not a good thing." Talking about Britney's progress, Lynne then says a little sadly, "I think there's something missing in her [Britney's] life. That gut belief she had in herself when she was so young – that's what's missing, and she's got to get that back." We think a lot of people still believe in Britney, and we have faith that she'll get her self-confidence back eventually. Until then, at least she's got her mum there for support.
