BBC accused of homophobia over Lindsay comments

The BBC have come under fire yet again – this time, for comments made about Lindsay Lohan’s relationship with Samantha Ronson. On BBC3 show The Most Annoying People Of 2008, Radio 5 presenter DJ Spoony said “Let the munters and mingers get each other. That's cool. No one really wants them ones.  But when they're hot and fit...do you know what I mean, and Hollywood superstars, they should be saved for guys like... not me ... for other guys." Porn star Ron Jeremy also spoke about the couple, saying he wanted a threesome with them. Now gay rights groups have hit out at the BBC for broadcasting the comments, which they say were sexist and homophobic. "The BBC should have never broadcast them,” says Peter Tatchell of campaign group OutRage. “The upcoming repeat [on 7 January] should bleep-out their stupid, bigoted remarks. A public apology is due from the BBC. DJ Spoony should be suspended by the BBC and be allowed to resume presenting his Radio 5 programme only after he has apologised on air and promised not to repeat his homophobic garbage.” Gosh. Do you agree that the comments were a bit dodgy, or are you rapidly tiring of this whole culture of complaining?

The BBC's in trouble again...
