Britney forced to re-record single after ban threat

When we heard that Britney’s new single was called If You Seek Amy (say it slowly… try again… see, it’s rude! It took us several hours to get it, sweet and innocent creatures that we are), we thought it might cause trouble – and it has. Radio stations in the US threatened to ban the single from the airwaves – meaning that now Britney has been forced to re-record the track, so that the good people of America (and some bad ones) will actually get to hear it on the old wireless. The new version is instead called If You See Amy which is a bit, well, lame and doesn’t actually make any sense. We wonder if our own DJs will be brave enough to play the original. Still, the whole hoo-ha is giving the song way more attention than it might have done otherwise, so we doubt Britney is losing too much sleep over it – she’s probably too busy, er, seeking Amy (er, no, that doesn’t make any sense either…).
