Queen Latifah has talked for the first time in a new interview about the abuse she suffered as a child. Talking to Essence magazine, the actress confessed she'd been abused by her babysitter, saying, "He violated me. I never told anybody. I just buried it as deeply as I could and kept people at an arms length." The former rapper says the deep emotional scars she was left with meant she found it hard to trust people, explaining, "I never really let a person get too close to me. I could have been married years ago, but I had a commitment issue."
