DJ AM Adam Goldstein's good friend and lawyer has claimed in a new interview that the plane crash the DJ barely survived last year is the reason behind his recent death. Talking to People, Matthew McNicholas said firmly, "There's no doubt in my mind that the injuries Adam suffered in the plane crash caused last Friday's events. Without the plane crash, we'd still be enjoying his musical talents. He lived with the trauma everyday." Adam admitted in an interview late last year that he was deeply traumatised by the place crash, in which four of his friends were killed, and he and pal Travis Barker were both severely burned. "I had a terrible nightmare," he explained. "There was someone with an aerosol can trying to light me on fire. I woke up and I was like, 'Oh my God. This is going to happen forever'." Although he sought help for his post-traumatic stress, friends say the star was still haunted by what happened, and that he avoided working in clubs that used pyrotechnic effects. Another friend agrees with the lawyers theory, saying after the DJ's funeral, "His death was a direct result of the plane crash. If that crash hadn't happened, he would be alive right now."
