In terms of things that have made heatworld’s inner teenager feel ridiculously excited, seeing Blur back with estranged guitarist Graham Coxon for some live shows in the summer of 2009 was right up there with Take That getting back together.
So we probably don’t need to point out that we are very happy about the latest Blur news – the iconic Brit pop band are heading to the studio next year to record a new album. Whoop!
The band haven’t released an album with the original line-up of Damon Albarn, Alex James, Dave Rowntree and Graham Coxon since the 1999 album 13, and Coxon walked out on the band in 2002 during the recording of the Think Tank album.
Af their successful reunion gigs, the band released a single called Fool’s Day in April, but now the boys are ready to record an new album together. An insider revealed to The Sun, “When they went into the studio earlier this year everyone was really pleased to discover that the old magic was still there. They would have liked to have done more, but Damon could not take part due to his commitments with Gorillaz. Now that he's finished touring with the band he has more time on his hands.”
