Katherine Jenkins has topped the list of the UK’s richest young music stars. We had no idea classical music was such a lucrative business, although we’re sure Charlotte Church - who is joint sixth on the same list - had an inkling.
Cheryl Cole is in joint second place, but after today’s X Factor news we predict that she’ll leapfrog over Katherine to claim first place next year.

The full 23rd annual Sunday Times Rich List will appear in the Sunday Times this weekend.
