Remember that guy from Busted? You know, big eyebrows? Sexy, deep voice? Gorgeous and talented? Ok, we'll stop now. Back in the day, when Busted were, er, busting out tracks like What I Go To School For and Year 3000, we were basically big fans - so naturally, when we heard Charlie Simpson, frontman of the noughties threesome, was playing his own solo gig, we hot-footed it to the other side of London to see him showcase of his new material. Squeal!
So in the back room of a London pub, we were transported back to our teenage years - and we rocked out to his sultry new sound. We loved the soulful rendition of Down, Down and Down whilst old fans won't be disappointed by more upbeat songs such as Thorns. Each track still features the classic deep Simpson voice and guitar bits (we won't get technical, we just liked it, okay?). And heat can officially say, he's still got it (perhaps more so than ever).
Afterwards, we grabbed Charlie for a quick chat who told us, "I'm really excited about my new stuff, I'm just gigging and looking forward to seeing the reaction". And we hear he's actually written every single song himself on the upcoming album, Young Pilgrim - plus his new stuff was produced by Danton Supple who has worked with actual Coldplay. Ooh!
