Most celebs would be satisfied with writing an autobiography within a year of getting famous but Susan Boyle is no ordinary celeb. She is going one step further having her life story transformed into a stage show.
We can’t really say we’re surprised. These days they will literally make a song and dance out of anything – there’s a Spiderman musical, a Lord of the Rings musical, they’re even planning a Fight Club musical - and now they’re making a musical out of a woman who sings songs from musicals. A sort of meta-musical if you will.
The show is going to be called, ‘I Dreamed A Dream’, after the song that shot the hairy angel to fame and they’ve lined up actress Elaine C. Smith to play her (she looks a bit like Su-Bo in a really flattering mirror). The producers have got high hopes for this one, already planning to take it to the US and Australia after the UK tour, which kicks off in Newcastle next spring.
We are quite intrigued to see what the story is actually going to consist of, given that the most exciting thing that’s ever happened to Su-Bo happened on national TV so we’ve sort of seen the best bit already. Prior to this, it seems Susan spent most of her time in and around her flat in a Scottish suburb so it will be interesting to see how this can be brought to life with the help of music and movement. We’re sure it will be a blast nonetheless.
