Last night, with pom poms in hand, heatworld headed up to Manchester for the opening night of the Glee Live tour. To say we were excited about spending the evening dancing with the likes of Finn (Cory Monteith), Rachel (Lea Michele), Kurt (Chris Colfer), Mercedes (Amber Riley) and co is an understatement. We were ready, we had our jazz hands ready. We even had our cheerios outfit ready*.
The night had a bit of a ropey start with the show being delayed because the house lights in the MEN arena wouldn't turn off (fail). But some poor soul was sent into the roof and sort it out manually and before long, the Glee club were on stage bellowing out to Don't Stop Believin'. The wait was worth it.
Our favourite moments
The best bits included a cute duet with Sam (Chord Overstreet) and Quinn (Dianna Agron) singing Lucky (In Love With My Best Friend) and Puck (Mark Salling) got the biggest girlie scream of the night when he bounced on stage at the start (that was predictable, he's fit). But it was Kurt's (Chris Colfer) amazing dance moves to Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It) and Mercedes (Amber Riley) belting out to Empire State of Mind that got us all shivery and happy. It was a total feel-good fest.
Our most favourite bit though was when Brittany (Heather Morris) appeared on stage in a green bikini and shiny blue hot pants to dance to Britney Spears' Slave For You. Her moves were pretty amazing, in fact we reckon she could have given Britney herself a run for her money!
So basically, if you're a Glee fan and have tickets to see the live show, you're in for a real treat. Our only complaint? Puck not doing Sweet Caroline. You can never have too much Puck.
* This is a lie, we're not that weird.
