Cheryl Cole doesn’t need the US X Factor to crack America. Hell no! Instead of finding fame sitting next to Simon Cowell, the Geordie singer – with the help of manager Will.i.am – is lining up a host of stars to work with her on her new album, with the hopes of piquing the American music buyer’s interest in her.
The latest big names being linked to the follow-up to Cheryl’s 2010 album Messy Little Raindrops include Eminem and Nicki Minaj. Er, wow!
“Cheryl's album is finally coming together now and is sounding incredible,” a snitch told Daily Star Sunday. “It's completely different to anything she's brought out before and has much more of an urban vibe than her previous pop-based stuff. There's a lot of heavy beats and it has a real old-school flavour to it."
The source also revealed some other big names who have worked with Cheryl. "Not only has she lined up Rihanna and Usher for duets on the album, which she's ecstatic about, she's also in talks with Nicki Minaj as there's one track in particular on her album which Will.i.am thinks would be perfect to have Nicki's vocals on."
Not too bad for a singer from Girls Aloud, eh?
