If you were in or within a 50-mile radius of London today, then you probably heard the reception that One Direction got at the Radio One Teen Awards. Yes, there was a lot of screaming. Excited screaming. There's no doubt that Harry, Niall, Zayn, Louis and Liam have secured themselves an enormous number of fans since their almost-victory on The X Factor last year – but we had no idea just how wide their fan net had gone.
Chatting to none other than Joe Jonas on the Teen Awards red carpet earlier today (yes, we know, it is a hard life), he told us that he was a huge fan of the boys. “They are top boys,” he smiled, adding, “I love their songs, I'm glad I got to see them perform. They're huge!” Coming from Joe Jonas – he of the hugely massive and much-loved Jonas Brothers – that is definitely a compliment. Joe also laughed about just how loud the UK fans are, yelling at us over the din, “The girls are SO loud here!” Well done, girls. Maybe the Jonas three will team up with the One Direction five and form some sort of super(hot) boy band? Probably not, but we're going to enjoy the mental image.
Surely it can only be a matter of weeks before One Direction head back to the place it all began for them – the X Factor live stage. Tonight last year's champ Matt Cardle will be there performing his new single (we suppose it's only fair that he get first turn), but we're hoping that Harry and co won't be too far behind.

Don't miss The X Factor tonight. It's on at 8pm on ITV1, and we'll be nattering away all the way through on Twitter.
