Check out heatworld’s Ones To Watch for 2012

Gallery

Here at heatworld, we like music. In fact, we quite enjoy discovering new music... and then telling you lot all about it. So we thought we'd check out some up and coming talent who we reckon just could make it big in 2012.

So after much consideration and debate, we’ve picked our five favourites new stars to watch out for and trust us when we say, they are all rather brilliant for different reasons. And we think you will like them too.

First up... Emeli Sande

You’ll already know Emeli from her stunning vocals on the Professor Green hit Read All About It, but this little lady has been making music since she was very young. In fact, her talent has served her well – and she’s already written for the likes of Tinie Tempah, Leona Lewis and Cher Lloyd. In fact, Chipmunk owes his first huge success, Diamond Rings, to her. But this year saw Emeli break into the mainstream with her own tracks – like Heaven and Daddy – and 2012 will see her release her debut album, Our Version Of Events and collect her Critic’s Choice Brit Award.

Check out Emeli’s single, Daddy, below.

Michael Kiwanuka has already been wowing crowds with his jazzy voice – and it’s all thanks to Adele who invited him to support her on her tour this year. But now that he’s got a firm fan base sorted, it looks like 2012 could well be the year the world falls in love with this fella. In fact, he’s already been shortlisted for a Brit Award and made MTV’s Brand New list and the BBC Sound Poll. So make sure you look out for Michael’s debut album, Home Again, which will be out in March, you don’t want to miss this man.

Cairo, Mark and Pierre make up new boy band Encore and if their Facebook following is anything to go by, these boys have already acquired and army of very dedicated fans. They've been bubbling underground for a while now but having tried out a few videos on the world in 2011, they plan on releasing their first proper single, Fun Last Night on 26 February 2011. Plus, they're pretty hot.

She dazzled on Chase and Status’ Time and now the wonderous Delilah is breaking out on her own to show us what she’s made of. Her first single Love You So is already winning music lovers over and her misty vocals seem to be impressing even the toughest of industry professionals. We have a feeling she’ll be on the radio, a lot.

If there’s one man who can get a song in your head and never allow it to escape, it’s this very tall and rather lush fella, Mohombi. This 25-year-old singer-songwriter is already very well known all over Europe and his planning on bringing his afro-pop and dancehall tunes to us in 2012, with first single In Your Head getting a release in March.
