Poor Matt Cardle may not be nominated at this year’s Brit Awards, but he’s been spreading the love for his fellow X Factor contestants One Direction. The boys, who are up for British Single, are up against Adele, Ed Sheeran and Pixie Lott, amongst others, but Matt is confident they’ll take home the award.
"I think One Direction will get the 'Best Single' because of their fans,” Matt said to MUZU.TV. “I think they have an incredible following and they're so strong and loyal that anything they put their mind to, they can make it happen for the guys.”

Matt continued, "I want to take my hat off to Savan Kotecha for writing 'What Makes You Beautiful', because that is like pop perfection. The first time you hear it you're like, 'Well that's a number one!' I love it and I think they're brilliant." Pop perfection… we couldn’t agree more. Although, we’re also thinking of Harry Styles’ face when we say that, which we’re guessing Matt isn’t.
He was also full of praise for one of the other acts performing at tomorrow night’s ceremony – Coldplay. "A dream collaboration would be Chris Martin. I think he's an absolute genius and I would love to work with him. I know that he's a busy boy and in one of the biggest bands in the world, but if he has five minutes, half an hour or half a day sometime."

Writing and recording a duet in five minutes? Forget a hit single, that sounds like a World Record attempt!
