To say we weren't expecting this would be an understatement. When Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera and Madonna got together to sing Madge's Like A Virgin and Hollywood we knew we were seeing three of the world's biggest female music stars coming together to give us a treat for the eyes and the ears. But we were NOT expecting anyone to make out.

Madonna gave Britney a big ol' open-mouthed smooch before dropping her in favour of a snog from new girl-toy; Christina.

Lady GaGa/Jo Calderone - You And I, 2011

 

We knew Lady GaGa was a fruit loop, but this really took the biscuit.

GaGa spent the entire evening as her alter ego Jo Calderone. Jo turned up; hair slicked back, wearing a nice grubby T-shirt and swigging on Scotch, as he belted out Lady GaGa's You And I.

We can't say we've seen much of him since that night...

Beyonce - Love On Top, 2011

 

What a treat this was. Not only did we get to see Beyonce jiggling around the MTV stage in a sequined tuxedo jacket, but we also got the exciting news that Beyonce and her hubby Jay-Z were going to be parents.

As B finished singing Love On Top, she dropped her mic, unbuttoned her jacket and revealed a rather impressive baby bump, which turned out to be little baby Blue Ivy.

Yay!

Michael Jackson - Medley, 1995

 

King of Pop Michael Jackson wowed the world when he took to the stage to perform a 10-minute medley of his biggest hits, including Billie Jean and Smooth Criminal.

But MJ wasn't alone - he brought his buddy, Gun's n' Roses' Slash along for the ride.

Justin Timberlake - My Love and Sexy Back, 2009

 

As pop songs go, Sexy Back is a pretty great one. This cracking tune teamed with Justin Timberlake's super-slick dance moves make this MTV VMA performance a real treat - especially for the ladies. We'd almost forgeotten how hot JT is... Almost.

It was nice of Timbaland to stop by too.
