Rihanna and Jay Z are reportedly preparing to take to the stage at the Paralympics closing ceremony tomorrow after rumours that Chris Martin has persuaded the pair to take part.
The stars are set to light up the stage in what is anticipated to be an incredible celebration of lightshows, music and the best of everything that the Paralympics had to offer.
Are they or aren’t they?
The Coldplay frontman is close friends with Jay Z and it’s reported that the dad of two managed to persuade the rapper to perform on stage with him. With Rihanna, rumours that the What’s My Name singer would appear on stage at the ceremony were circulating last month when the 24-year-old appeared on stage with Coldplay in Paris and sang Princess of China.
It would be rude of them not to, really.
Speaking to Radio One DJ Greg James, Chris hinted that “a couple of friends” would be joining the band onstage. When pushed as to whether these “friends” were Jay Z and Riri – he replied by saying “this is like a police inquiry! I can’t say much.”
Talking about the event, the Fix You singer revealed that rehearsals have been taking place but was careful not to reveal any more.
"We're in rehearsals in the biggest car park in the world where there's a fake Olympic stadium thing. I'm not sure what I can say."
The biggest car park in the world, eh? Then how come no-one knows where it is?
What’s in store?
The show is reportedly based around the theme of fire, water, wind and earth and will see a whole host of stars take to the stage. Hopefully RiRi and Jay Z included.
Kim Gavin is in charge of the event and has promised to give the Paralympics an explosive exit – knowing only too well how to put on a show, having taken charge of Take That’s live tours.
We are praying that the pair do turn up, but it looks like it's going to be amazing anyway. Well, it might be.
