Rita Ora and Carly Rae Jepson are the latest acts to be confirmed as performing at this years MTV’s European Music Awards. The ceremony is being held on 11 November in Germany.
Bring on the fun
The girls will be joining Taylor Swift, Muse and the newly reformed No Doubt in Frankfurt.
21-year-old Rita, who is nominated for Best Push Act and Best New Act with RIP, said she delighted to be performing at the event.
“I’m so excited to be part of the 2012 MTV EMA! And to be nominated is incredible – let’s have some fun this year!”
Carly mimicked the Hot Right Now singer’s joy –and revealed that she feels lucky to have been chosen to take part. She is nominated, like Rita, for Best Push Act and Best New Act with Call Me Maybe.
"This will be my first time at the MTV EMA, and I am beyond thrilled – feeling like a lucky duck for the nominations and the chance to perform. Now the only concern is what to wear?! Let the party begin, Frankfurt."
You are a lucky duck, Carly.
Who’s been nominated?
Rihanna and Taylor Swift are leading the race to win the most with eleven nominations between them. Katy Perry and Justin Bieber are close behind the pair with four nods each. Lady Gaga, Nicki Minaj and One Direction have all been named in three categories.
Justin is rumoured to be looking to continue his winning streak from last year, hoping to grab again Best Male and Best Pop.
This year MTV is re-introducing the Best Electric category with Calvin Harris and David Guetta the two front-runners for the award.
Oh and the lovely Heidi Klum is hosting the event. Let’s hope it’s a good one.
