It's been a while, but Girls Aloud - yep that's actual Girls Aloud: Nicola Roberts, Sarah Harding, Kimberley Walsh, Cheryl Cole and actual, proper Nadine Coyle, back from the States - are BACK! They're so back that their song, Something New, has leaked.
Clocking in at a pop-perfect 3 minutes and 20 seconds, it has already been deleted off of some websites. We're not going to host it here - first of all we're law-abiding journos AND within about half an hour it'll be taken down by those poor record company monkeys whose job it is to tell websites off for helping to leak content.
Instead, we can tell you what the song sounds like. Firstly, it starts of sounding a bit like this one from David Guetta and Nicki Minaj, Where Dem Girlz At.
Then there are some really loud "neeeeooooooww" bits in it which sound a lot like the "neeeeeoooooww" bits in Lady Gaga's Bad Romance.
Cheryl does a funny rap and Sarah has a solo and sounds precisely nothing like herself. We'd love to say it sounds like another pop star but it doesn't really sound like anything that's right or human. Apart from maybe Amelia Lily.
The chorus is very catchy and we'd love to hum it to you but words can't sing. The lyrics are about being leaders of the pack and running shows. Overall, it's a banging pop song. When the track is properly put online by people in charge of Girls Aloud, we'll let you listen. In the meantime, we hope our frantic description works!
Keep an ear out because heat radio will be playing Something New in full at midday today.
