The Grammys 2013: Our favourite three performances – Justin Timberlake with Jay-Z, Taylor Swift at the circus, and Ed Sheeran teams up with Elton John

The best part of any music awards do (other than the dresses) is always the peformances. Last Grammy Awards 2013 did pretty well on the pop star production front.

Taylor Swift opened the show with We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together. Her circus inspired performance was fun, with clowns, stilt walkers, acrobats and fire throwers all filling up the stage.

Justin Timberlake is officially a pop star again (phew!) after taking to the Grammys stage to perform new single Suit & Tie (which we like more every time we hear it). JT was introduced by Beyonce Knowles and Ellen DeGeneres and joined on stage by Jay-Z.

To give the performance even more of an old school feel – Justin was backed by a 50s style big band – it was mostly broadcast in black and white.

Ed Sheeran’s and Elton John’s performance was suitable understated. Elton played piano and Ed strummed his guitar and that was it. It did leave us feeling goose-bumpy though.
