Simon Cowell is in America's bad books after being caught rolling his eyes when an American Idol contestant dedicated his performance to the victims of the Virginia Tech massacre. When Virginia native Chris Richardson sent out his "heart and prayers" following a performance which Cowell had criticised on last night's live US show, the camera switched over to an unimpressed-looking Simon. Later in the show, after seemingly realising his error, he clumsily backtracked by saying that all the contestants were finding their performances challenging in the wake of the tragedy. Simon has always been cynical about performers whom he believes are going for the sympathy vote, but this time around it seems he misjudged the feelings of an entire country. Oops.
