Remember Scouse soap Brookside? Sigh, without it we wouldn't have Anna Friel, Philip Olivier or, er, Ray Quimnmnmnmn. Well, unlike other soaps, Brookside was filmed in an actual, real-life cul-de-sac instead of a set, so when the show finished in 2003 the houses were sold off to property developers (though quite why they thought anyone would want to live on a close that had bodies under patios, sieges and even it's own religious cult is a mystery to heatworld). Anyway, we just found this fan clip on YouTube of the Close as it is now – it looks like work has started on renovating the houses into homes, but it's so spookily overgrown and deserted it feels like a ghost town.
