I don't often get let out of the heat office. The boss-man has me tied to my desk watching Strictly Come Dancing on a constant loop. But yesterday I did go on a big trip away from the cosy confines of heat Towers to meet my hero, Ricky Gervais off the TV. I brought my tape recorder to interview him for a forthcoming edition of heat magazine, but because he easily gets bored waiting for the make-up and lighting and stuff to be sorted out, he decided to amuse himself by playing with my head. And luckily the photographer was there to catch the whole thing every step of the way...

As you can see here, he started by putting eyeliner on my face, and then decided to write some words on my forehead. It says "Live And Die Heat". He does seem to like having fun with bald men. (You may have seen Ricky playing with his other special friend Karl Pilkington on his DVDs.)

He then tried to put various things on my head, including a random piece of clothing he found, and then decided I would look like even more of a simpleton than I actually am if he put my hood up over my head, except for my ears which he pinned back specially. This made him laugh a lot.

Eventually Ricky let go of me and had his own photographs taken for the heat interview. But you'll have to wait till later this year to see the results, and what he said to me about all the stuff I asked him. All in all, it was a unique and special experience, being humiliated and made to look like an idiot by Ricky Gervais, from which I may never recover. Which is maybe why I'm sounding like an idiot right now. But it was a very special day out. Thanks Ricky.
