Eva Longoria faced the wrath of protesters yesterday when striking writers picketed outside the Desperate Housewives' set. Eva, who crossed the picket line to work on the show, tried to show support for the striking Writers Guild of America earlier in the day by bringing out pizza, but they refused it. During this TV interview to offer her support, a visibly upset Eva is drowned out by the picketers – who are some of 12,000 striking for better deals when the shows they work on are re-sold as DVDs, internet downloads and mobile phone transmissions. Eventually poor Eva’s saved by striker and fellow actress Julia Louis-Dreyfuss (of Seinfeld) who gets the crowd to calm down enough for Eva to explain that Desperate Housewives WILL be shutting down! Watch to the end as a visably rattled Eva fights back the tears.
