As expected, the Osbournes landed the Brits in trouble last night. Despite there being a 30-second time delay in place to avoid on-air swearing, TV watchdog Ofcom has already received an avalanche of complaints from viewers about the ceremony. Sharon opened the show by declaring, "Now that's what I call a big a*** opening number," and things deteriorated from there. The Arctic Monkeys had to be cut off mid-way through their acceptance speech and, as the alcohol flowed in the arena, guests on stage increasingly seemed to be losing their inhibitions. But, unsurprisingly, it was still Sharon who was the worst offender. Matters came to a head when she clearly disagreed with comic Vic Reeves' comments about Kylie, and instead of letting him finish his speech before presenting the Best British Album award, she shoved him out of the way, wrenched the statuette out of his hands and screeched, "Shut up, you're p***ed, p*** off you b******." The two of them then tussled embarassingly on stage as they both tried to announce the winner. Viewers were clearly unimpressed by the shambolic goings on and Ofcom has so far received 43 formal complaints.
What do you reckon – was it that bad?
