The BBC has issued an apology to EastEnders fans who were upset by the Easter weekend story line involving Max Branning being buried alive. Aunty Beeb received 167 complaints when they showed Tanya drugging and then burying her cheating husband Max before the 9pm watershed; they’ve now said sorry to viewers who “did not enjoy” the episode. Hmm, heatworld is not sure that actually counts as an apology. They went on to defended the storyline, saying “great care” had been taking to forewarn viewers about the nature of the scenes with advance publicity and pre-programming announcements. Do you think the BBC’s apology is good enough?
