It’s one of the best, if not THE best, teen drama series ever, and we love that Skins has always pushed the boundaries and managed to shock us, but it would appear that they have gone a little too far for some people. The ASA (Advertising Standards Authority) has banned a promotional poster for the show, which features Michelle (April Pearson) and Sid (Mike Bailey) sitting on a bed surrounded by other teens taking part in an orgy. The ASA claims that image “could cause serious or widespread offence” and there are fears that children might see it. However, the ASA dismissed complaints that poster condoned underage sex, or that it would encourage children to copy the behaviour. Channel 4 was quick to apologise if they had caused any offence, but said that the second series of Skins did illustrate the “consequences of hedonistic and irresponsible behaviour”.
