Hello. Just because we have Big Brother stories on heatworld on a constant basis, doesn't mean we shouldn't have another place where we can talk about it too. So here's the first in what will be a regular series of Big Brother blogs from me, your humble TV Editor at heat magazine, in which I aim to ponder general issues in the house and foist my opinions on you. In turn, feel free to foist back.
So, let's start by discussing the newest housemate Stuart and the amazing effect he's already had on his fellow inmates. I don't know whether I'm giving them too much credit, but the introduction of Stu does seem to be a brilliant masterstroke on the part of the fiendish team of BB producers. Remember how we were feeling on Friday night? Purely in terms of keeping the show as exciting as possible, it felt like the expulsion of nasty Alexandra might be a bit of a gamble. She might have been a hideously aggressive, grotesquely manipulative and exhaustingly irritating ball of whining delusion, but she made for gripping TV (her argument with poor Mohamed over his fancy-dress was one of the most fascinating scenes in recent BB history). Where would the drama come from once she'd be thrown out? Well, BB found the answer: chuck in another preening, buff alpha male – like Dale, but with a personality! – to immediately throw everyone into a state of breathless confusion. The women swooned, the men frowned. Conspiracy theories are flying about. They all seem mesmerised by him, as if he's got some special power over them. It's truly amazing what effect a man with well-toned pecs, stubble and weird eyes can have. Even quite intelligent women in the heat office are telling me they like him! In that way! Even though he's a strutting twerp who could clearly never fancy anyone as much as he fancies himself. Maybe there is something special about those eyes. Colleagues tell me he's not wearing eye shadow or anything, but he may have had his lashes dyed (see next week's mag for an in-depth investigation into Stuart's peculiar face)! I say: don't look into his eyes for too long. They'll clearly send you loopy.
But one thing's for sure: the introduction of Stuart has helped make BB9 a continuing triumph. There hasn't been a boring episode yet.
