Fern Britton has spoken out live on this morning’s, er, This Morning about her weight loss surgery – and says she didn’t lie about having the op…. she just chose not to mention it. Earlier today, we reported that Fern’s agent had denied she’d had the surgery in a Sunday newspaper, only for Fern to change her story and release an official statement confirming that she had. But she said today that her agent didn’t know she’d had the op, which is how the confusion arose. “There are some things a girl likes to keep to herself,” she said on the show, but insisted that she did eat a healthy diet and increase her exercise regime, as well as forking out for the surgery. “I haven't lied, I have been honest, but don't all run and get it done yourselves. I don't want to be blamed for something else as well. The next time I have a facelift or have haemorrhoids I will let you know.” We’re glad she can joke about it, anyway…
