My my, there are a lot of grumpy celebrities around at the moment. Just as Chris Moyles has put his feud with Nicola Roberts to rest (supposedly…), a whole heap of tension has erupted between two more big names. And they’re so not the sorts to get involved in bitch-fights. In an interview this afternoon on Heart FM, Simon Pegg laid into Ricky Gervais, without any prompting. “He says a lot of things, that man,” said the normally mild-mannered actor. “He said there'd been no good British films since 1950. What an idiot. If you go to LA, you can get sucked into that. I've seen people go there and suddenly become rake-thin because there is a slight pressure on you to be thin. I've also seen a lot of fat people there.” He then added that Ricky was “one of the fat people in LA”. Well, well, well. A source at the station added, “It was completely unexpected, as he usually never says a bad word about anyone. At one stage both [presenters] Jamie and Harriet laughed because they didn't know how to take his comments. He was being serious.” We wonder if Ricky will retaliate or if this is a one-way attack. What do you make of it?
