Our eyes were glued to This Morning today (not literally – this isn’t American Pie) to see what Phil and Fern would say about Kerry. And we weren’t disappointed – but while Fern took a softer approach to all the controversy, making lots of caring faces towards the camera, Phil wasn’t backing down. “People have said that we were irresponsible to put Kerry on the telly,” he said. “She arrived, she had a bit of powder, we were told that under no circumstances should we discuss her financial problems, otherwise she'd walk off the programme, that was the only instruction we had.” Had a bit of powder?! OMG! Yes, we know he means make-up, but do you think he phrased it like that deliberately, the tinker? If so, we like his style. If not then, er, that’s a bit unfortunate, isn’t it? He went on to read a long statement out from Mark Croft (which basically said he and Kerry were “incredibly upset” about yesterday’s events) but didn’t leave it at that. In response to Mark, he said “What I would have to say is that if you are concerned about your wife, as he obviously is, and you are the person who has accompanied her in a car to bring her into a television studio and you notice that that particular morning her medication or whatever is having an affect on her speech surely you shouldn't bring her into a TV studio.” Well said that man. This one’s going to run and run, isn’t it?!
