Ben is barely recognisable
Last month we brought you the news that poor Ben Fogle was seriously ill after contracting a flesh-eating bug in Peru. Well, now the star has been spotted just outside the hospital where he's been receiving treatment, and it's shocking what a toll the illness has taken on his body. Ben, who has always been extremely fit and active (he even rowed across the Atlantic!), looks scarily frail in these snaps, and it's clear that the ongoing treatment is proving very tough. The 35-year-old was diagnosed with the potentially fatal bug after an inch-long hole appeared in his forearm earlier this year, and friends say they are extremely worried about his health. "He is really suffering," one pal commented, "His immune system has been shot to pieces. He’s fainted twice because his body cannot cope and he’s normally so energetic – but he looks like an old man." Ben was hoping to take part in a race to the South Pole next month, but it's looking unlikely, as the poor thing is struggling to even walk down the street. We feel so sorry for him.
