A former American Idol contestant has been found dead outside Paula Abdul's home, following an apparent suicide. The body of Paula Goodspeed, who never made it past the early audition stages of the show, was found alongside a number of prescription drugs in a car near the Idol judge's home in LA. The wannabe singer was said to have developed a fixation with Paula Abdul, and admitted during her audition two years ago that she had done "life-sized drawings" of her. The car in which Paula Goodspeed's body was found had a number plate reading ABL LV, and a photo of Paula Abdul hanging from the rear-view mirror. A police officer from the area also confirmed that Goodspeed had been causing a disturbance in the area over the past few years, saying, "Our station has been called to respond to Paula Abdul's house on multiple occasions over the last several years concerning Ms Goodspeed. I can't say whether Ms Abdul was directly harassed, but Ms Goodspeed had been causing enough of a disturbance [to have police called]." Paula Goodspeed was clearly upset by her unsuccessful American Idol audition, and wrote a blog on her MySpace page about how she felt. "It's very hard reading such awful things being written about yourself... or hearing things being said..... not like a lot of people would understand what it's like having so many haters. Just because I made the mistake of trying out for a singing competition before I was even ready vocally, emotionally and physically." Paula Abdul herself was not at home when the body was discovered, but she later released a statement saying, "I am deeply saddened and shocked about what transpired yesterday. My heart and prayers go out to her family."
