All eyes were on Russell Brand last night as he did an industry stand-up gig in Los Angeles – and he did make a small reference to all that prank-call controversy. As he tested out new comedy material, the crowd were keen to hear him make jokes about the whole hoo-ha, but all he said in reference to Andrew Sachs’ granddaughter Georgina was “Burlesque and erotica – I’ve been rethinking of it of late”. When hecklers demanded more, he very sensibly (but boringly…) said “It’s too soon to talk about that” and instead focused more on his “last national scandal but one” – the jokes he made about George Bush and the Jonas Brothers at the MTV Awards a few weeks ago. Russell also managed to break a stool and drop his mic during the set, and left the venue immediately rather than mingling with the laydeez, but we’re sure he’ll be back to his smutty, saucy best soon...
