Yes, we know the whole credit crunch smunch thing is so very yawnsome – we’re bored of hearing those two words. So sorry to wheel them out once more, but it’s a very sad day. Soapland’s most famous circular housing development, Brookside Close, sold for a mere £735,000…not just for one house, but all 13! Imagine. Once home to dodgy druggie Jimmy Corkhill, mobile-shop owning Ron Dickson (remember the Moby? Retail GOLD) and even Jennifer Ellison, Brookside was the jewel in Liverpool’s TV crown until the soap’s untimely demise in 2003. We shed a tear when the series ended, and were equally upset to see the place looking like a weed-ridden ghost town. The Close was expected to fetch over £2million, so we’re a bit upset we missed out on the best opportunity in the world – we so should’ve had a bit of whip round in the heat office…
Brookside's been sold!
