When we first saw pictures of Loose Women’s Carol McGiffin with this chap, we thought she must have a secret son – but no, the man/boy in this picture is TV producer Mark Cassidy who, at 26, is 22 years younger than 48-year-old Carol. The pair got engaged over Christmas, and Carol says she doesn’t give a monkeys about the age difference. “I don’t care about the age gap,” she says. “It doesn’t worry him, so I’m trying not to care either. It is a big difference, but he is a very mature, grown-up 26 – more than I was at that age – he has a good job and owns his flat. I am a very immature, young 48 so I reckon we meet somewhere in the middle.” However, Carol (who used to be married to Chris Evans, remember!) says Mark does have a few annoying boyish habits. “He sleeps a lot and late, he only has two pairs of shoes, his telly is too big for his flat, he owns a PlayStation and never goes anywhere without being plugged into his iPod,” she says. “My world has been turned upside down. But it’s not just things that have changed – I have… I’m nicer, softer, less anxious.” Aww. The unlikely couple first met at a TV party last summer – and were kissing within an hour. Ooh, we like her style.
