Soap's sexiest couple is...
As it Valentine's Day on Saturday an all, we thought it was about time we did something a little bit lurve-themed. Soap fans across the country have been voting in Virginmedia.com's special Valentine's poll in their hundreds to nominate the TV couple they think are the sexiest. And the winners? It's John-Paul and Craig from Hollyoaks! The Craig/Sarah/John-Paul/Hannah love-square storyline was one of Hollyoaks' most original and intriguing in years, so it comes as no great surprise that 46 per cent of viewers chose the two boys as their sexiest couple. In second place was Corrie's Liam and Carla, who scooped 13 per cent, and in third was EastEnders' doomed couple Sean and Roxy, who picked up 8 per cent of the vote. Both John-Paul McQueen (played by James Sutton) and Craig Dean (Guy Burnet) are no longer regulars on the Channel 4 soap, but are nonetheless thrilled with the results. James said, "I demand a recount!" before saying he was happy to "be up there with Kylie and Smithers from The Simpsons" as a gay icon. Guy, meanwhile, confessed that being John-Paul's boyfriend on the soap had actually helped him with the ladies in real life. "When I’m out I use it as a pulling tool, I pretend to be gay and then ask a girl what it’s like to kiss and so forth," he admits. Cheeky little bugger!
