When we lose bits of jewellery/our keys/our mind, we have a whinge about it on Facebook and then move on with our lives. But when you’re famous, you can go public with your error and plead for the return of the item in question. And we love Kirstie Allsopp, so we thought we’d draw attention to the fact that she’s lost a precious ring. The Location x 3/Relocation x 2 star was filming in Hove, Sussex yesterday when she realised that a precious ring given to her by her long-term partner Ben Andersen had gone missing – and she thinks it must have tumbled from her pocket (er, duh – keep it on your finger, love) when she made a sandwich stop at M&S in Hackney, east London earlier in the day. The large red ring, which is surrounded with diamonds, was given to Kirstie by Ben to mark the birth of their son Bay back in 2006, so it’s not surprising that she’s so upset. “I feel so stupid,” she says. “As it’s the nearest thing I will probably ever get to an engagement ring, I’m broken up. It has huge sentimental value and I’m offering a substantial reward if anyone finds it.” Substantial reward, eh? We don’t know about you, but we’ll be spending our lunch break trawling the mean streets of Hackney with a metal detector…
