They're our favourite presenting duo and the mum and dad of morning television, but Fern Britton and Phillip Schofield are not in the same league when it comes to earnings. It has been revealed today that on the new series of All Star Mr And Mrs, Fern will be pocketing £15,000 per show, while Phil will be scooping a cool £45,000 per show. That's three times as much as Fern (although, it has to be said, £15,000 for reading an autocue and smiling a lot is not to be sniffed at...). Phil is paid more because he's signed an exclusive £2million contract with ITV, so his salary is pre-agreed. It's not thought that Fern will have been aware of this huge discrepancy, and she originally wanted the same wage as Phil before she agreed to do the new series. A source from Mr And Mrs said, "Fern asked for the same pay cheque as Phil. But there isn’t a huge production budget." A spokesman for ITV has declined to comment on the news. We wonder what Fern will have to say when she finds out...
