Piers Morgan is an opinionated man, that much we know (indeed, he’s being particularly opinionated about certain celebrities in the new issue of heat), and he’s now had his say on Jade Goody. Specifically, the outspoken journo-turned-presenter has defended the tragic Big Brother star amid criticism that she’s been making money out of her cancer ordeal. “I am desperately sad about Jade Goody,” says Piers. “I think she's an extraordinary young woman and I said that long before she had this illness. I think people who accuse Jade of milking the situation should just shut up. I don't think you milk a situation where you just have months to live and you need to provide for your children.” Piers adds that he would like to help Jade if she needs it. “When you know her whole upbringing, and her childhood was so awful, it's unspeakable really... she's built a life around herself out of nowhere,” he says. “To see her achieve so much... to see it all now disappearing fast in this tragic way, is desperate. What can you say? All you can do is support her. She wants to raise awareness of cervical cancer and raise money for her kids' future before she dies and I will do anything I can to help her.” We’re glad Piers is being opinionated in a positive way for once – and echoing the thoughts of millions of other people too…
