This picture of Stephen Fry trapped in a lift has been the biggest boost yet for social networking site Twitter – suddenly, zillions of people are signing up to the cult site, based around status updates. In case you haven’t heard, Stephen got stuck in a lift the other night, and blogged live from the confines of the 26th floor to tell his Twitter followers what was going on. “Ok. This is now mad. I am stuck in a lift on the 26th floor of Centre Point,” he wrote. “Hell's teeth. We could be here for hours. Arse, poo and widdle.” Oh, how we love that man. Anyhoo, the mainstream media picked up on Stephen’s “ordeal” and now Twitter, which has been bubbling under for quite a while now, has seen its user numbers go through the roof. Of course, other famous types like Jonathan Ross, Britney and even Barack Obama have been using the site for a while now. So, are Facebook’s days numbered?
