Ben Fogle’s bizarre tropical disease was one of the most unexpected and disturbing stories of last year, and now he’s revealed that the bug has sadly returned. As you may remember, the hunky presenter contracted the flesh-eating bug, leishmaniasis, when he was bitten by a sand fly while filming in Peru last summer – but now faces yet more treatment. “I am facing six weeks of chemotherapy and going to hospital for several hours a day to be put on drips to treat this condition,” he says. “I am really frustrated as I am normally so active.” Poor Ben – we hope he gets well soon.
