Jack Tweed has been found guilty of assaulting a taxi driver and is now awaiting sentencing. Jade’s new husband denied the charges (which you can read the details of here) at Epping Magistrate’s Court, but said he’d been too drunk to remember the details. “I was drinking all day,” he said. “If I did do that, all I can do is apologise, but I don't remember. I'm not the sort of person who would do that. My wife is undergoing an operation as we speak. I can't remember a thing.” Jack’s barrister Tania Panagiotapoulou added that, although Jack’s behaviour was “reprehensible”, he had not assaulted the taxi driver. “The court has heard evidence that does not paint a flattering picture as far as Jack Tweed is concerned,” she said. “His behaviour was doubtless reprehensible. He was rowdy, aggressive, he was drunk and he was argumentative. The extent of his aggression is very much of issue. It's absolutely denied by the defence there was any assault at all on that night.” It’s thought that 21-year-old Jack will be sentenced later today – and the maximum sentence for common assault is six months behind bars.
