As we reported this morning, a woman was arrested yesterday after being found in Jade Goody’s hotel room with a hammer. And now Max Clifford has spoken on This Morning to explain what happened during the alarming incident. “Jack was downstairs at the hospital canteen,” he said. “Jade was dozing, and she woke with a start to see this women standing over her mumbling or praying, and asked what was happening. Nurses came in and the woman left. The security detained her and then the police were called, and that's when they discovered she had a hammer. She was not threatened, but she was in a deep sleep and didn't know what was going on at the time. There will not be any charges. Jade is more aware now about what happened and when I spoke to her this morning she said, 'I'm sure the woman didn't mean me any harm'”. Max also confirmed that Michael Jackson did phone Jade to wish her well. “We were laughing about the fact Michael Jackson had phoned her!" he said. “Michael phoned on Saturday evening and asked to speak to her, but she was at the christening and later in a deep sleep, and then the following morning he called again to say he has got to leave soon, so what he did was record a message for her. The message said, ‘Hi Jade, it's Michael, I'm thinking of you and I hope everything goes as well as it can. I want you to come and see me when I'm over, everybody is talking about you over here in America – my brother Jermaine keeps asking me about you.’ [because they were in Celeb BB together]. But it's given her a real lift and she said, ‘Who would've thought that Michael Jackson would be calling on the phone to see how I am?!’” Max also said that this weekend’s christening – which has been somewhat overshadowed since news of the hammer drama broke – was “lovely” and “very moving”. He added that Jade’s “feeling a bit brighter” and is hoping to leave the Royal Marsden and go home later this week.
