This Morning host Phillip Schofield has released a new statement about that interview with Kerry Katona, after the star branded him "rude" during a recent interview. Pip, who at the time of the infamous This Morning interview claimed his and co-hosts Fern's questions were justified, wrote yesterday on his official blog, "In light of Kerry Katona's recent press conference, I would like to point out that the recollection I have of the interview we did with her, differs considerably from hers." Phillip says he never once accused Kerry of being intoxicated, and was merely concerned for her welfare. "Our team pride ourselves on being sensitive and caring to our guests," explained Pip. Kerry said yesterday that she was "not happy" with the way she'd been treated on the ITV show, telling reporters, "What really annoyed me when I was on This Morning was how they ignored the illness and my medication and just presumed I was a drunk. I said I had I had an illness and he just went: 'Are you drunk?' which I thought was quite rude." Pip, however, isn't letting Kerry's words alter his opinion, saying last night, "I still believe we approached her difficulties with a much fairer, gentler hand than she would have received in many other arenas. As always, I wish her nothing but health and happiness."
