heatworld's eyebrows were brushing the ceiling when we first heard that Peaches Geldof had run off and got married in Vegas, but, since it happened, she has always maintained that her and Max Drummey were genuinely in love. Well, the guitarist himself remembers the whole incident rather differently. "It was totally a publicity stunt. 100 per cent," Max was heard admitting. "I have her [Peaches] on retainer!" The scruffy musician was in London with his band Chester French just last night, and happily told friends they'd had "amazing publicity" since his relationship with Peaches. "She is on my personal payroll," he said. "She's my friend for money. She also orchestrates publicity stunts for me. I've garnered so much amazing publicity from awesome-people." Max looked as if he was joking throughout, but he clearly didn't care who heard him. During the same gig, he later made a bizarre reference to Chris Brown and Rihanna, saying, "We're guys who have been hurt by women and I'm glad people like Chris Brown are finally taking it back and hurting women." Um, okaaay. Whatever the truth about Peaches and Max's wedding, we'd say she's definitely much better off without him.
