Fearne Cotton is set to take over from Jo Whiley and get her own weekday show on Radio 1. It's thought the decision was made as part of a major shake-up by the station. Jo will remain at Radio 1, but will now be on air at the weekends between 1-4pm. An excited Fearne says of the news, "I love being at Radio 1 and taking on a weekday show is a dream come true. Jo is leaving very big shoes for me to fill and it’s nerve wracking. She has been a massive inspiration to me throughout my career so I have a high standard to live up to. I can’t wait to get started." Jo, too, seems equally happy, saying today, "After eight wonderful years the time has come to move on and give someone else the privilege of entertaining the nation on a daily basis. I’ve had the most amazing time ever! The prospect of lie-ins, taking my kids to school and doing something new is, I confess, rather exciting." Jo will be taking the Live Lounge with her onto the weekend show, so we'll have to wait and see what Fearne has in store. Are you pleased about this news, or are you upset to be losing your daily does of Jo Whiley?
