We all knew it was going to be explosive and controversial, but there were still elements of Katie Price's interview with Piers Morgan that we weren't expecting. The model initially came across as quite hard, but was happy to acknowledge this, telling Piers she knew what people at home would be thinking about her. Talking about the split from husband Peter Andre, Katie confessed she hadn't cried yet, and that even her closest friends found that "disturbing".
Asked by Piers how she was feeling, a tough-sounding Katie told him she was "completely over" Peter, and that she wasn't cold, but she was just being herself. However, when Piers asked her to talk about when she and Pete first got together, the model warmed slightly, admitting she was "so in love" with him, and that they "had the best time together". Smiling as she spoke, Katie told Piers, "I was SO in love with him. It was driving me nuts. We had great sex. We had a laugh. He's gorgeous. He was my total everything and I thought we'd be together forever."
Later on during the chat, however, Katie told Piers she always expected Pete to finish it one day, saying, "It always would have ended, anyway." Katie admits that it was the now infamous night out in Bristol that turned out to be the final straw for Pete, as she had made a pact with him just days before that they would no longer go out separately. Pete, she claims, was also jealous of her horse trainer Andrew Gould, and that this came between them. "Pete had it in his head that I fancied him and he fancied me. It grew and grew in his head. He was convinced something was going on," she explained. Katie was actually with Andrew Gould the day the photos of her out looking drunk were in the papers, and when Pete called she says she knew it was over, and told Andrew so. She admits not crying at the time, but allows that she was in shock and her first thought was to escape the country.
Katie then told Piers she wasn't doing the interview for sympathy, but that she's "had enough" of being made out to be a "devil" in the papers. When she then confessed suffering a miscarriage in March - just before she ran the London Marathon - Katie broke down and struggled to compose herself for several minutes. She says she and Pete were both excited about the prospect of a new baby, and they were gutted to lose it.
Although adamant that she'll "never ever EVER, with capital letters" get back with Pete, Katie refused to say anything bad about him. She admitted she'll always love him, and told Piers he was an excellent father who was "talented". The saddest bit for us was when she admitted her friends cried in Ibiza when she had her "Pete" tattoo crossed out. Katie says tonight is the last time she'll discuss the split, and she certainly got a lot off her chest and admitted some of her actions were wrong, but she also talked about getting married again within a year, and flashed her boobs at Piers. She seemed to us as if she was, in actual fact, hurting a lot, and at times we even felt uncomfortable watching her. Did YOU watch the interview? We want to know what you thought. Tell us below...
