Alesha Dixon has, it's fair to say, taken one hell of a battering over the past few weeks. In one of the most ridiculous mountain-out-of-a-molehill reactions since Sachsgate, new Strictly judge Alesha Dixon has been dragged over the hot coals for simply doing a job she loves – and she's pretty fed up about it. However, bubbly Alesha isn't letting all the criticism get her down. In a new interview with Mike and Chelsea on Manchester’s Key103, Alesha talks about her feelings about the whole thing, and how she's been coping. "There's so many other things in the world to worry about," she begins. "Why is it that we make this into such a big deal?" Managing to laugh as she continues, Alesha says, "I know how the game works. I expected it to a certain degree and now I just try to take it with a pinch of salt and not take it too seriously." Loads of celebs have spoken out to defend Alesha over the weekend, and the judge herself is refusing to apologise for accepting the job. "I didn't agree to do the job to be depressed for four months," she says firmly. "I wanted to do the job because, actually, I love the show and I've been a fan since it started." She allowed that "die-hard fans" take it to an extreme, but that essentially the show is more about entertainment than turning someone into a world-class ballroom dancer. "I wouldn't have said yes to the job if I didn't think I could do it," she says. "It's nice to have a new voice." Are you on Alesha's side with all this, or are you, like, sooo past caring?
