Susan Boyle has spoken for the first time about her difficult childhood, admitting she was beaten and bullied by other children while at school. "They used to knock me about a bit and try to make me cry," she remembers. "I didn't think I could trust anybody and it made me a sitting target." Su-Bo, who was born with learning difficulties after being starved of oxygen as a baby, admits she found it hard to make friends, instead taking solace in her music. "It was a complete emotional release," she says. "Singing was the one thing I was good at. Music was my escape." Susan says she only went along to the Britain's Got Talent audition for her mum, who sadly passed away before her daughter became famous overnight. "She had a good belief that I could do it," Su-Bo says. She took the death of her mum very hard, admitting now, "It didn't fully register until maybe six months after, when the loneliness set in and there was nobody around except the cat." She doesn't have to worry about being lonely anymore, however. Su-Bo will come face-to-face with Simon Cowell once again this weekend when she performs on The X Factor. We can't wait to see her on stage again.
